The back of the photo says FotoGraf, Nicolae P. Xanthopulo, Sulina

So this photo was taken in Romania before Christian & Karl came to America!

This photo also says FotoGraf, Nicolae P. Xanthopulo, Sulina,

but it is not marked on the front. It is possible one of them is Lydia Spiess Neubauer, 

writing to her brother Fred.

There is a German inscription on the back

Translated:

Dear Fred

God's rich blessing

we wish you and family

 for the year 1906

This one seems to be of the same era, but there are no inscriptions.

Does anyone recognize the uniform?
